A WORD FROM THE PASTOR

Experience A Great Relief In Your Heart

As the two disciples were on their way to Emmaus, downcast and disappointed, Jesus himself joined them walking: "but their eyes were kept from recognizing him." Why? Something prevented them from recognizing Christ. It could be the fact that they were looking for what they wanted, not for what Christ was presenting.

In meditation, don't we all subconsciously hope and aspire to tell God how the Divine Self should appear to us, how the Divine Person should solve our problems, and how all - powerful God should fit into our lives?

After the resurrection of Jesus, using Christ's risen power, Peter at the Temple cured a crippled man by saying, "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk" (Acts 3:6). We, too, can claim the power of the Risen Christ. How? One way is the Jesus 'Prayer': Sit down alone in silence. Lower your head, shut your eyes, breathe out gently and imagine yourself looking into your heart. Carry your thoughts from your head to your heart.

As you breathe out, say, "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me." Say it moving your lips very gently, or simply say it in your mind. Try to put all other thoughts aside. Be calm, be patient, and repeat the process frequently. You will experience a great relief in your heart as if a big stone has been lifted up, and you will enjoy an unspeakable peace with you.

In the Service of the Lord,
