Faith Formation

Our 2023-2024 Faith Formation year begins Wednesday, September 13^th, 2023. This year we have 13 volunteers who will be leading our children in the following grades:

Kindergarten & 1^st – Mrs. Maria Landry & Miss Kamry Landry	6^th – 8^th (Group #1) -Mr. Roland Brannon & Mrs. Jenny Guillot
2^nd & 3^rd – Mrs. Mona Thibodeaux & Mrs. Becky Wiggins	6^th – 8^th (Group #2) - Mr. Kim Meranta & Mrs. Kathy Shilling
4^th– Ms. Renee Garris	9^th– 10^th (Confirmation) – Mr. John Cart, Mrs. Michelle Tolen & Mr. Paul Tolen
5^th – Mrs. Judy Brannon

Faith formation isn’t about education or about learning as many facts as possible about the Catholic religion. As the term implies, faith formation is not about information but formation. It is about forming us in our loving relationship with God. One way that we grow in our relationship with God is by developing and celebrating our faith at home. That development and growth continues for the children of St. Bernadette through our Faith Formation program. We invite our children to open themselves to learning more about our wonderful creator and His relationship with all of us. We will be working to better understand what happens in the liturgy. We will be guiding the children in reading of scripture, discussing its message, and its spiritual relevance in our lives.

Religion classes are held on Wednesday

Elementary grades 1st -5th 3:15pm-4:30pm
Jr high grades 6th -8th 6:30pm -7:30pm
High School grades 9th -10th 6:30pm-7:30pm

Confirmation:

Confirmation parent meeting -TBA
Confirmation Practice: March 20, 2024 @ 6:30pm with sponsor
Confirmation Day: Thursday, March 21, 2024 @ 6:00pm Mass

First Communion:

First Communion parent meeting -TBA
First Confession April 18, 2024 at 6:00pm
First Communion April 21, 2024 @ 10:30am Mass

God doesn’t call the qualified,

Confirmation Requirements

Attend class – be in class every week

Attend Mass and Holy Days of Obligations

Go to Confession as least once a month

Make a Holy Hour (Adoration) in Chapel

15 Hours of church service hours

Confirmation Practice

Confirmation Practice is March 20, 2024 at 6:30 pm with Confession.
Sponsors need to be at practice with student.

Confirmation Mass
Confirmation Mass is Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 6:00pm. Bishop Jerrell will be the main celebrate for the Mass.

We are looking for Altar Servers grades 4th - 11th or older for masses and special masses such as Holy Days, Funerals etc.
